History

In 2010 with the sole aim of imparting quality education at affordable price,  Mr. Govind Devappa Naik Dessai, Late Mr. Shankar Y. Fal Dessai, Mr. Anil S. Fal Dessai, Mr. Alton D’costa, Mr. Deepak Devappa Naik Desssai, Mr Ramamurti Govind Phal Dessai, Mr Shaba J. Sawant Dessai along with Mr. Deepak Babji Dessai, Mr. Sabastiao Francisco Fernandes, Mr. Gandhaji Sada Naik and Mr. Ratnakar Chandru Velip founded the ‘Goa Education Society of Fatorpa’. The unanimously elected executive committee members were Mr. Govind Devappa N Dessai as President, Late Mr. Shankar Y. Fal Dessai as Vice President and , Mr. Anil S. Fal Dessai as secretary and Mr. Alton D’costa as Tresurer.

Having founded the society, members like Mr. Alton D’costa, a businessman who has always reach out to help needy, of the village, got inspired to provide financial assistance to the existing Pre Primary School of the GESF to function in the name of his father, ‘Cruzinho D’costa Pre Primary School’ now with a strength of 58 students. To encourage students to develop their talents, Mr. Anil S. Fal Dessai, a businessman and social worker of the village, volunteered to provide fianancial assistance to the music school , to function  in his name as, ‘Anil Fal Dessai School of Music, Art and Culture’. To continue the pre primary classes Mr. Govind D. N. Dessai also a businessman and social worker volunteered to provide fianancial assistance to the Primary School to function in his name as ‘Govind Dessai Primary School’.

Trusting the members of the Society the parents from the locality came forward to admit their ward in this school which gave the necessary boost. The selection of teachers from the applicants interviewed was completely entrusted in the hands of educationalists in the teaching field from outside the village.

The academic committee plans the progressive educational steps to be taken, and the guidance to be given to teachers. Each one has specially contributed to the enrichment of the school with their expertise to bring about quality in teaching and learning. Workshops were conducted for teachers in the school to improve their quality in teaching and to develop listening and speaking skills in children.
